Our delegation that came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the Islam of Thakeef told us. He said, they came to him during Ramadan, and he had a tent pitched for them in the mosque. When they accepted Islam, they fasted what remained of the month.

[Its isnad is daif. Tabarani narrated it in Mujam al-Kabir: 17/169, no. 448, though it contains a corruption. Mizzi, by the same route, narrated it in Tahzib Kamal: 20/150, from the hadith of Ahmad bin Khalid, with the same wording. And in Sirah by Ibn Hisham: 20/150, Ibn Ishaq said, "Isa bin Abdullah narrated to me from" (in the original it is "bin," which I believe is a mistake) "Atiya bin Sufyan," with the same wording, at length, 4/137.Isa bin Abdullah was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Hayan, and a group of scholars narrated from him.
