The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade fasting on the day of Arafah at Arafat.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة وعلي بن محمد قالا حدثنا وكيع حدثني حوشب بن عقيل حدثني مهدي العبدي عن عكرمة قال دخلت على أبي هريرة في بيته فسألته عن صوم يوم عرفة بعرفات
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن صوم يوم عرفة بعرفات
Its chain of transmission is hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Fasting, chapter on fasting the day of Arafah while at Arafah, no. 2440, from the hadith of Hawshab.Mahdi Hijri was deemed reliable by Ibn Khuzayma and Ibn Hibban, so his hadith is hasan.
