The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command fasting on the bright days, the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth, and he would say that it is like fasting the whole year, or like the equivalent of fasting the whole year.Ishaq bin Mansur related to us, Habban bin Hilal informed us, Hammam related to us from Anas bin Sirin, Abdul-Malik bin Qatada bin Milhan Qaysi related to me from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ, something similar.Ibn Majah said, Shuba erred and Hammam got it right.

عن رسول الله ﷺ أنه كان يأمر بصيام البيض ثلاث عشرة وأربع عشرة وخمس عشرة ويقول هو كصوم الدهر أو كهيئة صوم الدهر حدثنا إسحق بن منصور أنبأنا حبان بن هلال حدثنا همام عن أنس بن سيرين حدثني عبد الملك بن قتادة بن ملحان القيسي عن أبيه عن النبي ﷺ نحوه قال ابن ماجة أخطأ شعبة وأصاب همام
Its chain is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in the chapters on fasting, in the chapter on fasting three days each month, 2449, from the hadith of Hammam with this wording, and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih. Abdul-Malik was not deemed reliable by anyone except Ibn Hibban, as far as I know. Part of the hadith has many corroborating narrations in Nasai, 2387, and elsewhere.
