The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah, glorified is He, says, 'Son of Adam, if you show patience and seek reward from Me at the first shock of grief, I will accept nothing less than Paradise as your reward.'"
حدثنا هشام بن عمار حدثنا إسمعيل بن عياش حدثنا ثابت بن عجلان عن القاسم
عن النبي ﷺ قال يقول الله سبحانه ابن آدم إن صبرت واحتسبت عند الصدمة الأولى لم أرض لك ثوابا دون الجنة
[Its chain of transmission is hasan]. Ahmad reported it (5/258, 259), and Tabarani in al-Kabir (8/225, no. 7788) through multiple routes from Ismail, and his narration from the people of Sham is strong, see Taqrib and other sources. Thabit is truthful, from Hims, a man of Sham, see Taqrib and other sources. Busiri graded it sahih, and Tabarani also reported it through another route from Thabit, similarly, in a shortened form.
