The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never kept me away from his presence from the moment I accepted Islam, and he never saw me without smiling at me. I once complained to him that I could not stay firm on horseback, so he struck my chest with his hand and said, "O Allah, make him steady, and make him one who guides and is rightly guided."

ما حجبني رسول الله ﷺ منذ أسلمت ولا رآني إلا تبسم في وجهي ولقد شكوت إليه أني لا أثبت على الخيل فضرب بيده في صدري فقال اللهم ثبته واجعله هاديا مهديا
Reported by Bukhari in the Book of Jihad and Campaigns, chapter on those who cannot stay firm on horses, hadith no. 3035, and no. 6089, from Ibn Numayr, and Muslim in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions, chapter on the virtues of Jareer bin Abdullah , hadith no. 2475, from the hadith of Qays, through him.
