The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For me to walk on a burning coal or a sword, or to mend my sandal with my foot, is more beloved to me than to walk on the grave of a Muslim. I do not care whether I relieve myself in the midst of graves or in the midst of the marketplace."
حدثنا محمد بن إسمعيل بن سمرة حدثنا المحاربي عن الليث بن سعد عن يزيد بن أبي حبيب عن أبي الخير مرثد بن عبد الله اليزني
قال رسول الله ﷺ لأن أمشي على جمرة أو سيف أو أخصف نعلي برجلي أحب إلي من أن أمشي على قبر مسلم وما أبالي أوسط القبور قضيت حاجتي أو وسط السوق
Its chain of transmission is daif because of Muharibi's use of "an" (indicating a possible undisclosed link), but Busiri graded it sahih in az-Zawaid, and Munziri said, Ibn Majah narrated it with a good chain of transmission. Abdul-Rahman bin Muhammad Muharibi's status regarding tadlis was mentioned earlier, hadith 649. The hadith has corroborating narrations. Ibn Abu Shayba narrated it, 3/338, 339, with a sahih chain of transmission from Uqbah, as a stopped narration, though it carries the ruling of a raised one.
