Ibn Majah 1482

[Sahih] Recorded by Abu Dawud in Kitab al-Janaiz, Chapter on Walking in Front of the Funeral, no. 3179, from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, with this wording. Also recorded by Tirmidhi, no. 1007, with the same wording, and he also recorded it as a mursal narration, and said, "The scholars of hadith all consider the mursal version of this hadith to be more sahih." Nasai, Ahmad, and others declared it daif, and Hafiz verified in Talkhis and elsewhere that it is mudraj (an interpolated addition). The hadith that follows serves as a corroborating witness for it.
