I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray on the day of the Conquest, and he placed his sandals on his left side.
حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن ابن جريج عن محمد بن عباد عن عبد الله بن سفيان
رأيت رسول الله ﷺ صلى يوم الفتح فجعل نعليه عن يساره
[Its chain is sahih] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, Chapter on Prayer in Sandals, no. 648, from the hadith of Yahya with the same wording.Ibn Jurayj clearly stated that he heard it directly, and Ibn Khuzayma and Ibn Hayan graded it sahih.
