I said to myself, "Tonight I will closely watch the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." So I lay down using his threshold, or his tent, as a pillow.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and prayed two light units, then two long, long, long units, then two units shorter than the previous two, then two units shorter than the previous two, then two units shorter than the previous two, then two units, and then he prayed witr. That made thirteen units in total.

قلت لأرمقن صلاة رسول الله ﷺ الليلة قال فتوسدت عتبته أو فسطاطه فقام رسول الله ﷺ فصلى ركعتين خفيفتين ثم ركعتين طويلتين طويلتين طويلتين ثم ركعتين وهما دون اللتين قبلهما ثم ركعتين وهما دون اللتين قبلهما ثم ركعتين وهما دون اللتين قبلهما ثم ركعتين ثم أوتر فتلك ثلاث عشرة ركعة
