Abdullah bin Umar reported,

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The prayers of the night and the day are to be offered two by two."

Darussalam

[Hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Chapter on Voluntary Prayers, section on Daytime Prayer, no. 1295, from the hadith of Shuba, with this same wording. Ibn Khuzayma, Ibn Hibban, Bukhari, Bayhaqi and others graded it sahih.
