Sahl bin Abu Hathma reported,

Concerning the prayer performed in a time of danger, he said that the imam stands facing the qibla, with one group standing with him while another group faces the enemy with their faces toward the enemy line. He leads them in one rakat, and they bow for themselves and prostrate twice for themselves where they stand. Then they move to the position of the other group and that group comes forward, and he leads them in one rakat and two prostrations. So he has completed two, and they have completed one. Then they bow one rakat and prostrate twice.Muhammad bin Bashshar said, "I asked Yahya bin Saeed Qattan about this hadith, and he narrated it to me from Shuba, from Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim, from his father, from Salih bin Khawat, from Sahl bin Abu Hathma, from the Prophet ﷺ, the same as the hadith of Yahya bin Saeed. Yahya said to me, 'Write it down beside it.' I do not recall the wording of the hadith exactly, but it was like the hadith of Yahya."

عن سهل بن أبي حثمة أنه قال

في صلاة الخوف قال يقوم الإمام مستقبل القبلة وتقوم طائفة منهم معه وطائفة من قبل العدو ووجوههم إلى الصف فيركع بهم ركعة ويركعون لأنفسهم ويسجدون لأنفسهم سجدتين في مكانهم ثم يذهبون إلى مقام أولئك ويجيء أولئك فيركع بهم ركعة ويسجد بهم سجدتين فهي له ثنتان ولهم واحدة ثم يركعون ركعة ويسجدون سجدتين قال محمد بن بشار فسألت يحيى بن سعيد القطان عن هذا الحديث فحدثني عن شعبة عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن أبيه عن صالح بن خوات عن سهل بن أبي حثمة عن النبي ﷺ بمثل حديث يحيى بن سعيد قال قال لي يحيى اكتبه إلى جنبه ولست أحفظ الحديث ولكن مثل حديث يحيى
