A man asked Ibn Umar, "How should I perform the witr prayer?"He replied, "Pray witr with a single rakah."The man said, "I fear that people will call it al-butayra (the cut-short prayer)."Ibn Umar said, "It is the sunnah of Allah and His Messenger," meaning, this is the sunnah of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ.
