We were commanded not to tuck up our hair or clothing, and not to perform ablution because of stepping on something impure.
Its isnad is daif. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Purification, chapter on a man treading on filth with his foot, hadith no. 204, from the hadith of Ibn Idris and others through it. Hakim graded it sahih according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs, and Dhahabi agreed with him. Amash used the form "an" without specifying direct transmission, and see hadith no. 178 for its defect.
