The Prophet ﷺ said, "When you pray, do not spit in front of you or to your right, but spit to your left or beneath your foot."

Sahih. Abu Dawud narrated it in "The Prayer," in the chapter on the disapproval of spitting in the masjid, no. 478, from the hadith of Mansur, as did Tirmidhi, no. 571, who said, "It is a hasan sahih hadith."
