The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the dawn prayer in the darkness of early morning, then mounted his horse and said, "Allah is the greatest! Khaybar is destroyed! When we descend upon a people's territory, "evil is the morning of those who were warned" [Saffat 37:177]."The people came running out into the streets shouting, "Muhammad and his army!"The narrator explained that "khamis" means the army.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prevailed over them, killing the fighters and capturing the women and children. Safiyyah came into the share of Dihya Kalbi, but then she was assigned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who married her and made her freedom her dowry.Abdul-Aziz said to Thabit, "Abu Muhammad, did you ask Anas bin Malik what he gave her as dowry?"He replied, "He gave her her own self as her dowry."And he smiled.
حدثنا مسدد قال حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن عبد العزيز بن صهيب وثابت البناني
أن رسول الله ﷺ صلى الصبح بغلس ثم ركب فقال الله أكبر خربت خيبر إنا إذا نزلنا بساحة قوم {فساء صباح المنذرين} فخرجوا يسعون في السكك ويقولون محمد والخميس قال والخميس الجيش فظهر عليهم رسول الله ﷺ فقتل المقاتلة وسبى الذراري فصارت صفية لدحية الكلبي وصارت لرسول الله ﷺ ثم تزوجها وجعل صداقها عتقها فقال عبد العزيز لثابت يا أبا محمد أنت سألت أنس بن مالك ما أمهرها قال أمهرها نفسها فتبسم
