I spent a night at my aunt Maymunah's house. The Prophet ﷺ got up, and at some point during the night the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rose and performed a light ablution from a waterskin hanging there. Amr would describe it as very light and minimal. Then he stood to pray.So I got up and performed ablution similar to his, then came and stood on his left. He moved me around and placed me on his right. He prayed as long as Allah willed, then lay down and slept until he was breathing audibly. The caller came to inform him that it was time for prayer, and he went with him to the prayer. He prayed without performing ablution again.We said to Amr, "Some people say that the Prophet's ﷺ eyes sleep but his heart does not sleep."Amr replied, "I heard Ubayd bin Umayr say that the dreams of the prophets are revelation." Then he recited, "Indeed, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you" [Saffat 37:102].
حدثنا علي بن عبد الله قال أخبرنا سفيان عن عمرو قال أخبرني كريب
بت عند خالتي ميمونة ليلة فقام النبي ﷺ فلما كان في بعض الليل قام رسول الله ﷺ فتوضأ من شن معلق وضوءا خفيفا يخففه عمرو ويقلله جدا ثم قام يصلي فقمت فتوضأت نحوا مما توضأ ثم جئت فقمت عن يساره فحولني فجعلني عن يمينه ثم صلى ما شاء الله ثم اضطجع فنام حتى نفخ فأتاه المنادي يأذنه بالصلاة فقام معه إلى الصلاة فصلى ولم يتوضأ قلنا لعمرو إن ناسا يقولون إن النبي ﷺ تنام عينه ولا ينام قلبه قال عمرو سمعت عبيد بن عمير يقول إن رؤيا الأنبياء وحي ثم قرأ {إني أرى في المنام أني أذبحك}
