One night, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the prayer until half the night had passed. Then he came out to us, and after leading the prayer, he turned his face toward us and said, "The people have prayed and gone to sleep, but you have remained in a state of prayer as long as you have been waiting for it."
حدثنا عبد الله بن منير سمع يزيد بن هارون قال أخبرنا حميد
أخر رسول الله ﷺ الصلاة ذات ليلة إلى شطر الليل ثم خرج علينا فلما صلى أقبل علينا بوجهه فقال إن الناس قد صلوا ورقدوا وإنكم لن تزالوا في صلاة ما انتظرتم الصلاة
