People used to pray with the Prophet ﷺ while they had tied their lower garments around their necks because the garments were too small. So the women were told, "Do not raise your heads until the men have settled into a sitting position."
حدثنا محمد بن كثير قال أخبرنا سفيان عن أبي حازم
كان الناس يصلون مع النبي ﷺ وهم عاقدوا أزرهم من الصغر على رقابهم فقيل للنساء لا ترفعن رءوسكن حتى يستوي الرجال جلوسا
