Abdullah bin Umar reported,

A Jewish man and woman who had committed adultery were brought before the Prophet ﷺ. He asked the Jews, "What do you do with such people?"They replied, "We blacken their faces and disgrace them."He said, "Then bring the Torah and recite it, if you are truthful" [Aal Imran 3:93].So they brought it. They said to a man among them whom they trusted, "One-eyed man, read."He read until he reached a certain passage, where he placed his hand over it.The Prophet said, "Lift your hand."He lifted his hand, and there was the verse of stoning, plain to see.The man said, "Muhammad, the penalty of stoning is indeed prescribed upon them, but we have kept it concealed among ourselves."The Prophet ﷺ then ordered that the two be stoned, and they were stoned. I saw him shielding her from the stones with his body.
