The people of the slander said about her what they said, and Allah cleared her of what they said. Each one related to me a portion of the report that was narrated from Ayesha, who said, "By Allah, I did not think that Allah would reveal concerning my innocence revelation that would be recited. My own affair seemed to me too insignificant for Allah to speak about it with words to be recited. I only hoped that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would see a dream in his sleep through which Allah would clear me. But Allah, the Exalted, revealed 'Indeed, those who came with the falsehood' [Nur 24:11], the ten verses."

لها أهل الإفك ما قالوا فبرأها الله مما قالوا وكل حدثني طائفة من الحديث الذي حدثني عن عائشة قالت ولكني والله ما كنت أظن أن الله ينزل في براءتي وحيا يتلى ولشأني في نفسي كان أحقر من أن يتكلم الله في بأمر يتلى ولكني كنت أرجو أن يرى رسول الله ﷺ في النوم رؤيا يبرئني الله بها فأنزل الله تعالى {إن الذين جاءوا بالإفك} العشر الآيات
