The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent out ten men, among them Khubayb al-Ansari.Ubaydullah bin Iyad informed me that the daughter of Harith told him that when they had gathered around him, Khubayb borrowed a razor from her to groom himself. When they brought him out of the sacred precinct to kill him, Khubayb al-Ansari said,"I do not care, when I am killed as a Muslim, on which side my fall to Allah may be. That is for the sake of Allah, and if He wills, He will bless the limbs of a body torn apart."Then the son of Harith killed him. The Prophet ﷺ informed his companions of what had happened to them on the very day they were struck down.
حدثنا أبو اليمان أخبرنا شعيب عن الزهري أخبرني عمرو بن أبي سفيان بن أسيد بن جارية الثقفي حليف لبني زهرة وكان من أصحاب أبي هريرة أن
بعث رسول الله ﷺ عشرة منهم خبيب الأنصاري فأخبرني عبيد الله بن عياض أن ابنة الحارث أخبرته أنهم حين اجتمعوا استعار منها موسى يستحد بها فلما خرجوا من الحرم ليقتلوه قال خبيب الأنصاري ولست أبالي حين أقتل مسلما على أي شق كان لله مصرعي وذلك في ذات الإله وإن يشأ يبارك على أوصال شلو ممزع فقتله ابن الحارث فأخبر النبي ﷺ أصحابه خبرهم يوم أصيبوا
