I sat with Shaybah in this mosque, and he said, "Umar sat with me in this very spot where you are sitting now and said, 'I have resolved to leave no gold or silver in the Kabah without distributing it among the Muslims.'"I said, "You will not do that."He asked, "Why?"I replied, "Your two predecessors did not do it."He said, "They are the two men whose example is to be followed."

جلست إلى شيبة في هذا المسجد قال جلس إلي عمر في مجلسك هذا فقال لقد هممت أن لا أدع فيها صفراء ولا بيضاء إلا قسمتها بين المسلمين قلت ما أنت بفاعل قال لم قلت لم يفعله صاحباك قال هما المرءان يقتدى بهما
