The Prophet ﷺ sent Khalid...Abu Abdullah Naeem bin Hammad also narrated to me, saying Abdullah related to us, Muamar reported to us from Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, who said:The Prophet ﷺ sent Khalid bin Walid to the tribe of Banu Jadhimah. They did not know how to say, "We have accepted Islam," so instead they kept saying, "Sabana, sabana" (meaning "We have left our religion"). Khalid began killing some of them and taking others captive. He handed each one of us a captive, then ordered every man among us to kill his captive.I said, "By Allah, I will not kill my captive, nor will any of my companions kill his."We mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, "Allah, I disassociate myself before You from what Khalid bin Walid has done," repeating it twice.
حدثنا محمود حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري عن سالم
بعث النبي ﷺ خالدا ح و حدثني أبو عبد الله نعيم بن حماد حدثنا عبد الله أخبرنا معمر عن الزهري عن سالم عن أبيه قال بعث النبي ﷺ خالد بن الوليد إلى بني جذيمة فلم يحسنوا أن يقولوا أسلمنا فقالوا صبأنا صبأنا فجعل خالد يقتل ويأسر ودفع إلى كل رجل منا أسيره فأمر كل رجل منا أن يقتل أسيره فقلت والله لا أقتل أسيري ولا يقتل رجل من أصحابي أسيره فذكرنا ذلك للنبي ﷺ فقال اللهم إني أبرأ إليك مما صنع خالد بن الوليد مرتين
