A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, by Allah, I hold back from the dawn prayer because of so-and-so, who prolongs it for us."The narrator said, I never saw the Prophet ﷺ more furious in delivering an admonition than he was that day. He then said, "People, some of you drive others away. Whoever leads the people in prayer, let him keep it brief, for among them are the elderly, the weak, and those with pressing needs."
حدثنا محمد بن مقاتل أخبرنا عبد الله أخبرنا إسماعيل بن أبي خالد عن قيس بن أبي حازم
جاء رجل إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله إني والله لأتأخر عن صلاة الغداة من أجل فلان مما يطيل بنا فيها قال فما رأيت النبي ﷺ قط أشد غضبا في موعظة منه يومئذ ثم قال يا أيها الناس إن منكم منفرين فأيكم ما صلى بالناس فليوجز فإن فيهم الكبير والضعيف وذا الحاجة
