We came to visit Maqil bin Yasar during his illness, and Ubaydullah entered upon us. Maqil said to him, "Shall I tell you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He said, "There is no ruler placed in charge of Muslim subjects who dies while being deceitful toward them except that Allah forbids Paradise to him."
حدثنا إسحاق بن منصور أخبرنا حسين الجعفي قال زائدة ذكره عن هشام
أتينا معقل بن يسار نعوده فدخل علينا عبيد الله فقال له معقل أحدثك حديثا سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ فقال ما من وال يلي رعية من المسلمين فيموت وهو غاش لهم إلا حرم الله عليه الجنة
