From another man whom I personally consider more reliable than Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakra, from Abu Bakra, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed the people and said, "Do you know what day this is?"We replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best."He kept silent until we thought he would give it a name other than its own. Then he said, "Is it not the Day of Sacrifice?"We said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He asked, "What land is this? Is it not the sacred town?"We said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Truly, your blood, your wealth, your honor, and your skin are inviolable to one another, just like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours. Have I conveyed the message?"We said, "Yes."He said, "O Allah, bear witness. Let the one present convey to the one absent, for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed will retain it better than the one who hears it directly."And it indeed turned out so. He said, "Do not revert to disbelief after me, striking one another's necks."Then on the day Ibn Hadrami was burned, when Jariya bin Qudama burned him, he said, "Look out for Abu Bakra."They said, "Here is Abu Bakra watching you."Abdul-Rahman said, My mother told me, from Abu Bakra, that he said, "Even if they had entered upon me, I would not have so much as struck at them with a reed."

وعن رجل آخر هو أفضل في نفسي من عبد الرحمن بن أبي بكرة عن أبي بكرة أن رسول الله ﷺ خطب الناس فقال ألا تدرون أي يوم هذا قالوا الله ورسوله أعلم قال حتى ظننا أنه سيسميه بغير اسمه فقال أليس بيوم النحر قلنا بلى يا رسول الله قال أي بلد هذا أليست بالبلدة الحرام قلنا بلى يا رسول الله قال فإن دماءكم وأموالكم وأعراضكم وأبشاركم عليكم حرام كحرمة يومكم هذا في شهركم هذا في بلدكم هذا ألا هل بلغت قلنا نعم قال اللهم اشهد فليبلغ الشاهد الغائب فإنه رب مبلغ يبلغه لمن هو أوعى له فكان كذلك قال لا ترجعوا بعدي كفارا يضرب بعضكم رقاب بعض فلما كان يوم حرق ابن الحضرمي حين حرقه جارية بن قدامة قال أشرفوا على أبي بكرة فقالوا هذا أبو بكرة يراك قال عبد الرحمن فحدثتني أمي عن أبي بكرة أنه قال لو دخلوا علي ما بهشت بقصبة
