A man said, "By Allah, Messenger of Allah, I hold back from attending the morning prayer because so-and-so prolongs it for us."I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ more angry while delivering an admonition than he was that day. He then said, "Some of you drive people away. Whoever leads the people in prayer should keep it brief, for among them are the weak, the elderly, and those with pressing needs."

أن رجلا قال والله يا رسول الله إني لأتأخر عن صلاة الغداة من أجل فلان مما يطيل بنا فما رأيت رسول الله ﷺ في موعظة أشد غضبا منه يومئذ ثم قال إن منكم منفرين فأيكم ما صلى بالناس فليتجوز فإن فيهم الضعيف والكبير وذا الحاجة
