The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the end of time draws near, the dreams of a believer will hardly ever prove false. The dream of a believer is one of forty-six parts of prophethood, and whatever comes from prophethood cannot be false."Muhammad said, "And I say this myself."He said, it used to be said that dreams are of three kinds: the inner thoughts of one's own soul, frightening from Satan, and glad tidings from Allah. So whoever sees something he dislikes should not relate it to anyone, but should rise and pray.He said, they used to dislike seeing a shackle around the neck in a dream, but they were pleased by the sight of a fetter on the legs, and it was said that the fetter signifies steadfastness in religion.Qatada, Yunus, Hisham, and Abu Hilal also narrated this from Ibn Sirin from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet ﷺ, and some of them included all of it within the hadith. The narration of Awf is the clearest.Yunus said, "I only consider what concerns the fetter to be from the Prophet ﷺ."Abu Abdullah said, shackles are only placed around necks.
حدثنا عبد الله بن صباح حدثنا معتمر سمعت عوفا حدثنا محمد بن سيرين أنه سمع
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا اقترب الزمان لم تكد تكذب رؤيا المؤمن ورؤيا المؤمن جزء من ستة وأربعين جزءا من النبوة وما كان من النبوة فإنه لا يكذب قال محمد وأنا أقول هذه قال وكان يقال الرؤيا ثلاث حديث النفس وتخويف الشيطان وبشرى من الله فمن رأى شيئا يكرهه فلا يقصه على أحد وليقم فليصل قال وكان يكره الغل في النوم وكان يعجبهم القيد ويقال القيد ثبات في الدين وروى قتادة ويونس وهشام وأبو هلال عن ابن سيرين عن أبي هريرة عن النبي ﷺ وأدرجه بعضهم كله في الحديث وحديث عوف أبين وقال يونس لا أحسبه إلا عن النبي ﷺ في القيد قال أبو عبد الله لا تكون الأغلال إلا في الأعناق
