Abu Juhayfa reported,

I asked Ali , "Do you possess anything that is not in the Quran?" Mura's version reads, "anything that people do not possess?"He replied, "By the One who split the seed and created every soul, we possess nothing except what is in the Quran, apart from an understanding granted to a man regarding His Book, and what is in this document."I asked, "What is in the document?"He said, "The rules of blood-money, the freeing of captives, and that no Muslim is to be killed in retaliation for a disbeliever."
