We administered medicine into the side of the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ mouth during his illness, and he began gesturing to us not to do so. We thought it was merely the patient's aversion to medicine. When he recovered, he said, "Did I not forbid you to put medicine in my mouth this way?"We replied, "We assumed it was just dislike of the medicine."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Not one of you shall remain without having the same medicine administered to him while I watch, except Abbas, for he was not present with you."
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا يحيى عن سفيان حدثنا موسى بن أبي عائشة عن عبيد الله بن عبد الله قال
لددنا رسول الله ﷺ في مرضه وجعل يشير إلينا لا تلدوني قال فقلنا كراهية المريض بالدواء فلما أفاق قال ألم أنهكم أن تلدوني قال قلنا كراهية للدواء فقال رسول الله ﷺ لا يبقى منكم أحد إلا لد وأنا أنظر إلا العباس فإنه لم يشهدكم
