A man came to the Prophet ﷺ in the mosque and said, "I am ruined."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "What has caused that?"The man replied, "I had relations with my wife during Ramadan."The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Give charity."He answered, "I have nothing."So he sat down. Then a man came driving a donkey carrying food. Abdul-Rahman said, "I do not know what it was," to the Prophet ﷺ.The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Where is the man who said he was ruined?"He replied, "Here I am."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Take this and give it away as charity."The man said, "To someone needier than me? My family has no food."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then eat it yourselves."Abu Abdullah said, the first hadith is clearer in its wording, "Feed it to your family."
وقال الليث عن عمرو بن الحارث عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم عن محمد بن جعفر بن الزبير عن عباد بن عبد الله بن الزبير
أتى رجل النبي ﷺ في المسجد قال احترقت قال مم ذاك قال وقعت بامرأتي في رمضان قال له تصدق قال ما عندي شيء فجلس وأتاه إنسان يسوق حمارا ومعه طعام قال عبد الرحمن ما أدري ما هو إلى النبي ﷺ فقال أين المحترق فقال ها أنا ذا قال خذ هذا فتصدق به قال على أحوج مني ما لأهلي طعام قال فكلوه قال أبو عبد الله الحديث الأول أبين قوله أطعم أهلك
