The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The fornicator does not commit fornication while he is a believer, the drinker does not drink wine while he is a believer, the thief does not steal while he is a believer, and no one seizes plunder that makes people raise their eyes toward him while he is a believer."Ibn Shihab also reported it from Saeed bin Musayab and Abu Salama, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ, with the same wording, except without the mention of plunder.
حدثنا يحيى بن بكير حدثنا الليث عن عقيل عن ابن شهاب عن أبي بكر بن عبد الرحمن
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لا يزني الزاني حين يزني وهو مؤمن ولا يشرب الخمر حين يشرب وهو مؤمن ولا يسرق السارق حين يسرق وهو مؤمن ولا ينتهب نهبة يرفع الناس إليه فيها أبصارهم وهو مؤمن وعن ابن شهاب عن سعيد بن المسيب وأبي سلمة عن أبي هريرة عن النبي ﷺ بمثله إلا النهبة
