Bara bin Azib reported,

The last verse revealed was the closing verse of Surah an-Nisa, "They request from you a [legal] ruling. Say, 'Allah gives you a ruling concerning one having neither descendants nor ascendants [as heirs]'" [Nisa 4:176].

They ask you for a ruling. Say, Allah gives you a ruling concerning kalala. If a man dies leaving no child but has a sister, she shall have half of what he left. And he shall inherit from her if she has no child. If there are two sisters, they shall have two-thirds of what he left. If there are brothers and sisters, the male shall have the like of the share of two females. Allah makes clear to you lest you go astray. And Allah is Aleem of all things.
