They had a guest staying with them, so he instructed his family to slaughter before he returned, so that their guest could eat. They slaughtered before the prayer. When this was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, he ordered him to repeat the slaughter.The man said, "Messenger of Allah, I have a young goat, a milk-fed kid, that is better than two full-grown sheep meant for meat."Ibn Awn used to stop at this point in narrating from Shaybi, and he would narrate the same hadith from Muhammad bin Sirin and stop at this point, saying, "I do not know whether the dispensation extended to anyone besides him or not."Ayub narrated it from Ibn Sirin, from Anas, from the Prophet ﷺ.
قال أبو عبد الله كتب إلي محمد بن بشار حدثنا معاذ بن معاذ حدثنا ابن عون عن الشعبي قال قال
وكان عندهم ضيف لهم فأمر أهله أن يذبحوا قبل أن يرجع ليأكل ضيفهم فذبحوا قبل الصلاة فذكروا ذلك للنبي ﷺ فأمره أن يعيد الذبح فقال يا رسول الله عندي عناق جذع عناق لبن هي خير من شاتي لحم فكان ابن عون يقف في هذا المكان عن حديث الشعبي ويحدث عن محمد بن سيرين بمثل هذا الحديث ويقف في هذا المكان ويقول لا أدري أبلغت الرخصة غيره أم لا رواه أيوب عن ابن سيرين عن أنس عن النبي ﷺ
