...he related that he heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "There were three men among the Children of Israil whom Allah wished to test, so He sent an angel. The angel came to the leper and said, 'My means have been cut off, and I have no recourse except through Allah, then through you.'"He then mentioned the rest of the hadith.
وقال عمرو بن عاصم حدثنا همام، حدثنا إسحاق بن عبد الله، حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن أبي عمرة، أن
حدثه أنه، سمع النبي ﷺ يقول إن ثلاثة في بني إسرائيل أراد الله أن يبتليهم، فبعث ملكا فأتى الأبرص فقال تقطعت بي الحبال، فلا بلاغ لي إلا بالله، ثم بك. فذكر الحديث.
