Sahl bin Saad reported,

The Prophet ﷺ looked at a man fighting the polytheists who was one of the most effective Muslims against them, and he said, "Whoever wishes to look at a man from the people of the Fire, let him look at this one."So a man followed him and stayed with him until he was wounded. He then sought to hasten death, so he took the tip of his sword and placed it between his breasts and pressed down on it until it came out from between his shoulders. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, a servant may do, in what people see, the deeds of the people of Paradise while he is among the people of the Fire, and he may do, in what people see, the deeds of the people of the Fire while he is among the people of Paradise. Deeds are judged only by their endings."
