Muawiya wrote to Mughira asking him to write back with a hadith he had heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So Mughira wrote to him saying that he heard the Prophet say, upon finishing the prayer, three times, "There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is capable of all things."He also said that the Prophet used to forbid idle talk and gossip, asking too many questions, wasting wealth, withholding what is due and demanding what is not, disobedience to mothers, and burying daughters alive.From Hushaym, who said, Abdul-Malik bin Umayr informed us, saying, I heard Warrad narrating this hadith from Mughira from the Prophet ﷺ.
حدثنا علي بن مسلم حدثنا هشيم أخبرنا غير واحد منهم مغيرة وفلان ورجل ثالث أيضا عن الشعبي
أن معاوية كتب إلى المغيرة أن اكتب إلي بحديث سمعته من رسول الله ﷺ قال فكتب إليه المغيرة إني سمعته يقول عند انصرافه من الصلاة لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له له الملك وله الحمد وهو على كل شيء قدير ثلاث مرات قال وكان ينهى عن قيل وقال وكثرة السؤال وإضاعة المال ومنع وهات وعقوق الأمهات ووأد البنات وعن هشيم أخبرنا عبد الملك بن عمير قال سمعت ورادا يحدث هذا الحديث عن المغيرة عن النبي ﷺ
