She said to Urwa, "Son of my sister, we used to sight the new moon three times in two months, and no fire would be kindled in the homes of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."I asked, "What kept you alive then?"She replied, "The two black things, dates and water. However, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had neighbors from the Ansar who owned milk-giving animals, and they would send some of their milk to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from their homes, and he would give us some to drink."

لعروة ابن أختي إن كنا لننظر إلى الهلال ثلاثة أهلة في شهرين وما أوقدت في أبيات رسول الله ﷺ نار فقلت ما كان يعيشكم قالت الأسودان التمر والماء إلا أنه قد كان لرسول الله ﷺ جيران من الأنصار كان لهم منائح وكانوا يمنحون رسول الله ﷺ من أبياتهم فيسقيناه
