We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey, and whenever we ascended a height we would call out the takbir aloud. The Prophet ﷺ said, "People, go easy on yourselves. You are not calling upon someone deaf or absent. You are calling upon One who hears all and sees all."Then he came up to me while I was saying to myself, "There is no power and no strength except with Allah."He said, "Abdullah bin Qays, say, 'There is no power and no strength except with Allah,' for it is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise." Or he said, "Shall I direct you to a phrase that is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? It is, 'There is no power and no strength except with Allah.'"
حدثنا سليمان بن حرب حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن أيوب عن أبي عثمان
كنا مع النبي ﷺ في سفر فكنا إذا علونا كبرنا فقال النبي ﷺ أيها الناس اربعوا على أنفسكم فإنكم لا تدعون أصم ولا غائبا ولكن تدعون سميعا بصيرا ثم أتى علي وأنا أقول في نفسي لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله فقال يا عبد الله بن قيس قل لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله فإنها كنز من كنوز الجنة أو قال ألا أدلك على كلمة هي كنز من كنوز الجنة لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله
