When the delegation of Abdul-Qays came to the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Welcome to the delegation that has come without disgrace or regret."They said, "Messenger of Allah, we are a tribe from Rabia, and between us and you lie the tribe of Mudar. We can only reach you during the sacred month. So instruct us with a decisive command that we may enter Paradise by acting upon it and call those we left behind to follow it."He said, "Four things and four things. Establish the prayer, pay the zakat, fast Ramadan, and give a fifth of whatever spoils you take. And do not drink from gourds, green jars, hollowed stumps, or vessels coated with pitch."

لما قدم وفد عبد القيس على النبي ﷺ قال مرحبا بالوفد الذين جاءوا غير خزايا ولا ندامى فقالوا يا رسول الله إنا حي من ربيعة وبيننا وبينك مضر وإنا لا نصل إليك إلا في الشهر الحرام فمرنا بأمر فصل ندخل به الجنة وندعو به من وراءنا فقال أربع وأربع أقيموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة وصوموا رمضان وأعطوا خمس ما غنمتم ولا تشربوا في الدباء والحنتم والنقير والمزفت
