Abdullah bin Umar reported,

He came upon Umar bin Khattab traveling with a group of riders while he was swearing by his father. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called out to them, "Allah forbids you to swear by your fathers. Whoever swears, let him swear by Allah, or else let him remain silent."

حدثنا قتيبة حدثنا ليث عن نافع

عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما

أنه أدرك عمر بن الخطاب في ركب وهو يحلف بأبيه فناداهم رسول الله ﷺ ألا إن الله ينهاكم أن تحلفوا بآبائكم فمن كان حالفا فليحلف بالله وإلا فليصمت
