Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

Muaz bin Jabal used to pray with the Prophet ﷺ and then go to his own people and lead them in prayer. One night he recited Surat al-Baqarah for them. A man cut his prayer short and prayed a light prayer. When this reached Muaz, he said, "He is a hypocrite."Word of this reached the man, so he went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, we are a people who work with our hands and draw water with our camels. Last night Muaz led us in prayer and recited al-Baqarah, so I shortened my prayer, and he claimed that I am a hypocrite."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Muaz, are you one who drives people away?" three times. "Recite By the sun and its brightness and Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High and the like."

أن معاذ بن جبل رضي الله عنه كان يصلي مع النبي ﷺ ثم يأتي قومه فيصلي بهم الصلاة فقرأ بهم البقرة قال فتجوز رجل فصلى صلاة خفيفة فبلغ ذلك معاذا فقال إنه منافق فبلغ ذلك الرجل فأتى النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله إنا قوم نعمل بأيدينا ونسقي بنواضحنا وإن معاذا صلى بنا البارحة فقرأ البقرة فتجوزت فزعم أني منافق فقال النبي ﷺ يا معاذ أفتان أنت ثلاثا اقرأ والشمس وضحاها وسبح اسم ربك الأعلى ونحوها
