A man asked Ibn Umar, "How did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ describe the private conversation between Allah and the believer?"Ibn Umar replied, "He said, 'One of you will draw near to his Lord until He places His shelter over him. Then He will say, "Did you do such and such?" He will reply, "Yes." He will say, "Did you do such and such?" He will reply, "Yes." So He will make him acknowledge his sins, then He will say, "I concealed them for you in the world, and today I forgive them for you."'"
حدثنا مسدد حدثنا أبو عوانة عن قتادة
أن رجلا سأل ابن عمر كيف سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول في النجوى قال يدنو أحدكم من ربه حتى يضع كنفه عليه فيقول عملت كذا وكذا فيقول نعم ويقول عملت كذا وكذا فيقول نعم فيقرره ثم يقول إني سترت عليك في الدنيا فأنا أغفرها لك اليوم
