Ayesha reported,

The Prophet ﷺ remained for a period of time imagining that he was approaching his wives when in fact he was not. Ayesha said, "One day he said to me, 'Ayesha, Allah has given me an answer concerning a matter about which I asked Him. Two men came to me. One sat at my feet and the other at my head. The one at my feet said to the one at my head, "What is wrong with the man?" He replied, "He has been bewitched."The first asked, "Who has bewitched him?"He answered, "Labid bin Asam."The first asked, "With what?"He answered, "With a comb and the hair caught in it, placed inside the spathe of a male date palm, lying under a stone at the bottom of the well of Dharwan."'"The Prophet ﷺ then went to the well and said, "This is the well I was shown. It was as though its date palms were the heads of devils and its water was the color of henna infusion." He ordered that it be drawn out, and it was extracted.Ayesha said, "I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, why do you not, meaning, perform a counter-spell?'"The Prophet ﷺ replied, "As for Allah, He has already cured me. As for myself, I dislike stirring up evil against the people."She said, "Labid bin Asam was a man from Banu Zurayq, an ally of the Jews."
