The Prophet ﷺ said, "Charity is required of every Muslim."The companions asked, "What if a person finds nothing to give?"He replied, "Let him work with his hands to benefit himself and give in charity."They asked, "What if he is unable to do so, or does not?"He said, "Then let him help someone in distress and need."They asked, "What if he does not do that?"He said, "Then let him enjoin what is good," or he said, "what is right."They asked, "What if he does not do that?"He said, "Then let him refrain from evil, for that is charity from him."

قال النبي ﷺ على كل مسلم صدقة قالوا فإن لم يجد قال فيعمل بيديه فينفع نفسه ويتصدق قالوا فإن لم يستطع أو لم يفعل قال فيعين ذا الحاجة الملهوف قالوا فإن لم يفعل قال فيأمر بالخير أو قال بالمعروف قال فإن لم يفعل قال فيمسك عن الشر فإنه له صدقة
