The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would take me and seat me on one of his thighs, and seat Hasan on his other thigh. Then he would embrace us both and say, "O Allah, have mercy on them, for I have mercy on them."Ali reported, Yahya narrated to us, Sulayman narrated to us from Abu Uthman.At-Taymi said, "Something about this troubled me. I said, 'I have related this hadith such and such a number of times, yet I did not hear it from Abu Uthman.' So I looked into my records and found it written down among what I had heard."
حدثنا عبد الله بن محمد حدثنا عارم حدثنا المعتمر بن سليمان يحدث عن أبيه قال سمعت أبا تميمة يحدث عن أبي عثمان النهدي يحدثه أبو عثمان
كان رسول الله ﷺ يأخذني فيقعدني على فخذه ويقعد الحسن على فخذه الأخرى ثم يضمهما ثم يقول اللهم ارحمهما فإني أرحمهما وعن علي قال حدثنا يحيى حدثنا سليمان عن أبي عثمان قال التيمي فوقع في قلبي منه شيء قلت حدثت به كذا وكذا فلم أسمعه من أبي عثمان فنظرت فوجدته عندي مكتوبا فيما سمعت
