I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Allah has divided mercy into one hundred parts. He kept ninety-nine parts with Himself and sent down one part to the earth. From that single part, all creation shows mercy to one another, so much so that a mare lifts her hoof away from her foal out of fear of harming it."
حدثنا أبو اليمان الحكم بن نافع البهراني أخبرنا شعيب عن الزهري أخبرنا سعيد بن المسيب أن
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول جعل الله الرحمة مائة جزء فأمسك عنده تسعة وتسعين جزءا وأنزل في الأرض جزءا واحدا فمن ذلك الجزء يتراحم الخلق حتى ترفع الفرس حافرها عن ولدها خشية أن تصيبه
