A necklace belonging to Asma was lost, so the Prophet ﷺ sent some men out to search for it. The time for prayer came while they had no ablution and could find no water, so they prayed without ablution. They mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ, and Allah revealed the verse of tayammum.Ibn Numayr added, narrating from Hisham, from his father, from Ayesha, that she had borrowed it from Asma.
