I asked Ayesha about silk, and she said, "Go to Ibn Abbas and ask him."So I asked him, and he said, "Ask Ibn Umar."I then asked Ibn Umar, and he said, "Abu Hafs, meaning Umar bin Khattab, informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Only one who has no share in the Hereafter wears silk in this world.'"I said, "He spoke the truth, and Abu Hafs did not lie about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."Abdullah bin Raja said, Harb narrated to us from Yahya, Imran told me, and he related the hadith.
Bukhari included the hadith of Imran bin Hittan, from Ibn Umar, from Umar, concerning the wearing of silk. Imran is disregarded as a narrator because of his corrupt belief and the wickedness of his views, but the hadith is established through several routes from Umar, through Abdullah the freedman of Asma and others, from Ibn Umar, from Umar.
Then the Hafiz said, "The Qadiriyyah were a group among the Khawarij who held their views but did not believe in armed rebellion, rather they merely praised and glorified it. Imran was a preacher for this doctrine, and he was the one who composed those famous verses eulogizing Abdul-Rahman bin Muljam, the killer of Ali . Ajli deemed him trustworthy."After mentioning this, the Hafiz then said, "I say, Bukhari did not cite him except for one hadith among the corroborating narrations, for the hadith has other routes in his collection." Then he said, "This hadith was only cited by Bukhari from Ibn Umar in similar wording."
