Sahl bin Saad reported,

A woman came carrying a burdah.Sahl was asked, "Do you know what a burdah is?"He replied, "Yes, it is a woven cloak with a fringed border."The woman said, "Messenger of Allah, I wove this with my own hands to clothe you."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took it, as he was in need of it, and came out to us wearing it as his lower garment. One of the men felt it and said, "Messenger of Allah, give it to me to wear."He answered, "Yes."The Prophet ﷺ sat in the gathering as long as Allah willed, then returned home, folded it, and sent it to the man.The people said to him, "You did not do well. You asked him for it knowing that he never refuses anyone who asks."The man replied, "By Allah, I only asked him for it so that it might be my burial shroud on the day I die."Sahl said, "And it became his shroud."
